Being Prepared

Hurricane season is upon us, … tsunamis, earthquakes, pandemics, … all of these and other emergency type situations can happen at any time.  As scout families are we prepared?  As we all know, food and shelter are the most important components in situations like these. 

 

ASM/CM Kevin Higa has found a great source for MRE’s (meals ready to eat) which is based in Hawaii.  Six Eagles Hawaii, Inc. was started by five brothers, all Eagle Scouts, offering quality and affordable emergency products.  They have been featured on Hawaii Goes Fishing and even have instructional videos on YouTube.  Their website is at:  http://www.sixeagleshawaii.com/ (this site is also available on this blogsite under Important Links).

These MRE’s can also be useful for our hikes, outdoor projects and survival camps.
