2012 Camp Swanzy

It never fails. Swanzy Camp seems to be one of the more popular campouts the Troop does. This year was no exception.  The Scouts did an excellent job in keeping things battened down to keep the constant briskwinds under control. The numerous passing rain showers never dampened their Scout Spirits one bit. With special guests Mr. Wong and Mr. Lim on hand, our scouts got a firsthand lesson on the art of Dutch Oven Cooking and another refreshment course on the basic knots.  

Well done scouts on another successful camp.

2012 Great Aloha Run Service Project

Have you ever heard of the saying “Elbow Deep in Coconut Water”? Neither have I, but that is exactly what our scouts were in at the 2012 Great Aloha Run Troop Service Project.  For this morning, we could have coined ourselves the “Coconut Water Patrol”.

It’s President’s Day and our Scout and Scouter volunteers started the day at 5:30 AM. Although it was still in the dark of the night, the streets were all bustling with traffic and people were scurrying around with somewhere to go.  As we all arrived, we made it to the volunteer check-in and collected our white volunteer shirts. The task of setup was at hand and it was done in a snap.

The weather was perfect for all volunteers and participant as we were treated with a sunny morning with passing overcast clouds, the typical Hawaiian pleasantry. The breeze kept things cool and made the drizzling rain clouds pass us by quickly. A beautiful arching rainbow in the sky that smiled upon us made its appearance a few time this day. So what does this signify you ask? It certainly signifies another successful service project for Troop 75, of course.

Our scouts and scouters were again at their best as they all pitched in to hand out potassium rich natural Coconut Water to the race finishers. As expected, our scouts were very eager and did a great job working as a team. It was with a cheerful intent that our scouts were all there to help out as many tired finishers by handing them a cold packet drink to quench their thirst. Keeping the packets ice cold was a priority as our hands became numb after repeatedly sticking it in the deep ice buckets. Many of us were lucky enough to bump into some celebrities and personal friends and family as we constantly greeted the streaming mass of people. We even took in some time with former Troop 75 Scout Reynold K. as he strolled by.  

Please know that you have helped many charities that affect our communities and quality of life here in Hawaii.

I can't say it enough....... Job well done Scouts!

2012 February Swap Meet

A Fundraiser activity is an important learning tool in a Scout's career. There are so many lessons that are learned. It allows them to interact with people and tests their salesmanship skills. It teaches responsibility with money and gives them a little taste of what is involved with running a business. The skill of negotiating became essential to get a fair payment. The importance of good customer service, while enhancing their personal management skills, is also covered. These mentioned skills can only be learned from experience. The best part is that they’ll use these learned skills throughout their careers and lives.

Our Scouts did an outstanding job!

2012 Scout Sunday

A Scout is Reverent.
Sharing spiritual time in worship and fellowship with the Kahikuonalani Church Ohana is a special moment. Our little brother Scouts from Pack 75 made the event that much more special for all. A sincere Mahalo to Pastor Ricky and the entire church for all their continued blessings and support to all our Scouts.

Pearl City Lions Club - Breakfast Fundraiser

The Scout Law has 10 important words for all scout to live by. At the Pearl City Lions Club Breakfast Fundraiser, 5 of these laws were in full display for all to see; Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, and Cheerful. It was a great display of Scout Spirit and the Pearl City Lions Club really appreciated it. Your volunteer efforts as a scout brightly shined that day and made everyone's first impressions on Troop 75 a great one.

We are all proud of you. Keep it up scouts!
