With a wiki-wiki bus ride from Pearl City to the Honolulu Zoo, the troop was treated to gorgeous weather that is synonymous with beautiful Waikiki. As the sun shined and trade winds blew, the two patrols embarked in a Scavenger Hunt Patrol Competition that involved 16 tasks and numerous problem solving situations that tested their scout navigation and orienting skills, teamwork, and Hawaiiana knowledge. The tasks took them to numerous art sculptures, the International Marketplace, and a couple of museums. They also had to mail a Troop 75 Postcard at the Waikiki Station Post Office. The Scavenger Hunt finally culminated at the Ala Monana Shopping Center where they needed to visit the Apple Store to obtain the last task clue that was posted on the Troop Blog Site. At the end of it all, both patrols managed to rack up over 5-miles of urban hiking in the Honolulu concrete jungle. Both patrols certainly worked hard during the completion. The chance to frolic as Waikiki Tourist for a few hours was also a nice fringe benefit for all.
Great job scouts on the first Troop 75 Scavenger Hunt Patrol Competition.
